Configure SNMP hosts to make them communicate with the SNMP Agent using the standard SNMP, which is in order to manage and monitor the devices.
In the SNMP Host page, you can perform the following actions:
Options in the SNMP Host Configuration dialog:
Option | Description |
Type |
Select the SNMP host type from the Type drop-down list, and type the IP address, IP range or host name of the SNMP host into the Hostname box. |
Hostname |
Type the IP address, IP range or host name of the SNMP host into the Hostname box. |
SNMP Version |
Select the SNMP version from the SNMP Version drop-down list. |
Community |
Type the community for the SNMP host into the Community box. Community is a password sent in clear text between the manager and the agent. This option is only effective if the SNMP version is V1 or V2C. |
Permission |
Select the read and write permission for the community from the Permission drop-down list. RO stands for read-only, the read-only community is only allowed to read the MIB information. RW stands for read-write, the read-write community is allowed to read and modify the MIB information. This option is only effective if the SNMP version is V1 or V2C. |
