Configuring Track Object
This section describes how to configure a track object.
Creating a Track Object
To create a track object, take the following steps:
- Select Objects > Track Object from the menu bar.
- In the Track Object dialog, click New.
- In the Track Object Configuration dialog, type the name for the track object into the Name box.
- Type the threshold for the track object into the Threshold box. The value range is 1 to 255. The default value is 255. If the sum of weights for failed entries in the track object exceeds the threshold, system will conclude that the whole track object fails.
- Click a track object type in the Type section. One track object can only be configured with one type.
- If Interface is selected, click Add and then configure the following options in the Add interfaces section:
- Interface: Select a track interface from the drop-down list.
- Weight: Specifies a weight for the interface, i.e. the weight for overall failure of the whole track object if this track entry fails.
Click OK to add the configured entry to the system.
Repeat the above steps to add more track entries.
- If HTTP Ping ARP DNS is selected, click Add and select a packet type from the drop-down list, and then configure the following options in the Add HTTP/Ping/ARP/DNS objects section:
- IP/Host: Specifies an IP address or host name for the track object when the track is implemented by HTTP/Ping packets.
IP: Specifies an IP address for the track object when the track is implemented by ARP/DNS packets.
- Weight: Specifies a weight for the for overall failure of the whole track object if this track entry fails. The value range is 1 to 255. The default value is 255.
- Retries: Specifies a retry threshold. If no response packet is received after the specified times of retries, system will determine this track entry fails, i.e., the track entry is unreachable. The value range is 1 to 255. The default value is 1.
- Interval: Specifies an interval for sending HTTP/Ping/ARP/DNS packets. The value range is 1 to 255 seconds. The default value is 3.
- Egress interface: Specifies an egress interface on which HTTP/Ping/ARP/DNS packets are sent.
- Src interface: Specifies a source interface for HTTP/Ping/ARP/DNS packets.
Click OK to add the configured entry to the system.
Repeat the above steps to add more track entries.
- Click OK to save your settings.
Editing a Track Object
To edit a track object, take the following steps:
- Select Objects > Track Object from the menu bar.
- In the Track Object dialog, select the object you want to edit from the track object list, and click Edit. In the Track Object Configuration dialog, modify according to your need.
- Click OK to save your changes.
Deleting a Track Object
To delete a track object, take the following steps:
- Select Objects > Track Object from the menu bar.
- In the Track Object dialog, select the object you want to delete from the track object list, and click Delete.
View Track Object Details
To view track object details, take the following steps:
- Select Objects > Track Object from the menu bar.
- In the Track Object dialog, select an object from the track object list. Details of the selected object will be displayed on the lower section.
