V3 User
This section describes how to configure a V3 user.
Creating a V3 User
To create a user for an existing V3 user group, take the following steps:
- Select System > SNMP from the menu bar.
- In the SNMP dialog, click the V3 User tab.
- Click New.
- In the V3 User Configuration dialog, type the SNMP V3 user name into the Name box.
- Select an existing user group for the user from the Group drop-down list.
- Type the IP address of the remote management host into the Remote IP box.
- Select the authentication protocol from the Authentication drop-down list. By default, this parameter is None, i.e., no authentication.
- Type the authentication password into the Authentication password box.
- Re-type the authentication password into the Confirm password box to make confirmation.
- Select the encryption protocol from the Encryption drop-down list.
- Type the encryption password into the Encryption password box.
- Re-type the encryption password into the Confirm password box to make confirmation.
- Click OK to save your settings and return to the SNMP dialog.
Editing a V3 User
To edit a V3 user, take the following steps:
- Select System > SNMP from the menu bar.
- In the SNMP dialog, click the V3 User tab.
- Select the user you want to edit from the list and click Edit. In the V3 User Configuration dialog, modify according to your need.
- Click OK to save your changes and return to the SNMP dialog.
Deleting V3 User
To delete a V3 user, take the following steps:
- Select System > SNMP from the menu bar.
- In the SNMP dialog, click the V3 User tab.
- Select the user you want to delete from the list and click Delete.
