Trap Host

This section describes how to configure a trap host.

Creating a Trap Host

To create a trap host, take the following steps:

  1. Select System > SNMP from the menu bar.
  2. In the SNMP dialog, click the Trap Host tab.
  3. Click New.
  4. In the Trap Host Configuration dialog, type the domain name or IP address of the trap host into the Host name box.
  5. Type the port number for the trap host into the Trap host port box.
  6. Select the SNMP version from the Service drop-down list. The SNMP version can be V1, V2C or V3.

If the SNMP version is V1 or V2C, take the following steps:

  1. Type the community for the trap host into the Community box.
  2. Click OK to save your settings and return to the SNMP dialog.

If the SNMP version is V3, take the following steps:

  1. Select the V3 user from the V3 User drop-down list.
  2. Type the Engine ID for the trap host into the Remote EngineID box.
  3. Click OK to save your settings and return to the SNMP dialog.

Editing a Trap Host

To edit a trap host, take the following steps:

  1. Select System > SNMP from the menu bar.
  2. In the SNMP dialog, click the Trap Host tab.
  3. Select the trap host you want to edit from the list and click Edit. In the Trap Host Configuration dialog, modify according to your need.
  4. Click OK to save your changes and return to the SNMP dialog.

Deleting a Trap Host

To delete a trap host, take the following steps:

  1. Select System > SNMP from the menu bar.
  2. In the SNMP dialog, click the Trap Host tab.
  3. Select the trap host you want to delete from the list and click Delete.
