Default Policy Action

You can specify a default action for the traffic that is not matched to any configured policy rule. System will process the traffic according to the specified default action. By default system will deny such traffic.

To specify a default policy action, take the following steps:

  1. On the Navigation pane, click Configure >Security > Policy to visit the Policy page.
  2. On the Task tab in the right pane, Click Default Policy Action.
  3. In the Default Policy Action dialog, you can view the statistics on policy matchings in Hit count.
  4. Specify a default action for the traffic that is not matched to any configured policy rule. After Default action option, click Permit to permit the traffic to pass through, or click Deny to deny the traffic.
  5. You can configure to generate logs for the traffic that is not matched to any configured policy rule. By default system will not generate logs for such traffic. To enable log, select the Enable check box, and the system will generate logs for such traffic.
  6. Click OK to save your changes.
