Transparent Mode Configuration Wizard
Transparent mode has the following features:
- No need to revise IP settings of the protected network.
- No need to create NAT rules for the packets destined to the protected network.
This section describes transparent mode configuration wizard. You can complete device's transparent mode configuration easily and quickly via the wizard.
To configure a network connection in transparent mode via the configuration wizard, take the following steps:
- On the Navigation pane, click Configure > Network > Network to visit the Network page.
- On the Task tab in the right auxiliary pane, click Transparent Mode.
- In the Transparent Mode Configuration Wizard dialog, read the Welcome page, and then select a VSwitch from the VSwitch drop-down list.
- Click Next. In the Interface Binding page, add l2 interfaces to the VSwitch.
- Select an interface from the Interface drop-down list, and select a security zone for the interface from the Layer 2 Zone drop-down list.
- Click Add to add an interface. The new interface will be displayed in the list below.
- Repeat the above steps to add more interfaces. To delete an interface, select the interface you want to delete from the list and click Delete.
- Click Next. In the MGT Interface page, configure options for the interface.
- MGT interface: Specifies a management interface.
- IP address: Specifies an IP address for the management interface.
- Netmask: Specifies a netmask for the management interface.
- Management: Specifies a management method for the interface.
- DNS1: Specifies an IP address for the primary DNS server.
- DNS2: Specifies an IP address for the alternative DNS server.
- Click Next. In the LAN Interface 1 page, configure options for the LAN.
- Click Next. In the Policy page, policy rules that allow traffic transmission between the Layer 2 security zones for the interface are created automatically according to the configuration. You cannot edit any policy rule in this page. To edit a policy rule, close the wizard and edit it in the Policy section.
- Click OK to submit the configuration and close the wizard.
