URL Lookup

This section describes how to configure URL lookup and URL lookup server.

URL Lookup

You can inquire a URL to view the details by URL lookup, including the URL category and the category type.

To inquire and view the details of a URL, take the following steps:

1. On the Navigation pane, click Configure > Content > URL Filter/Web Content/Web Posting to visit the corresponding page.
2. On the Task tab in the right auxiliary pane, click URL Lookup.
3. In the URL Lookup dialog, type the URL into the Please enter the URL to inquire box.
4. Click Inquire, and the results will be displayed at the bottom of the dialog.

URL Lookup Servers

URL lookup server can classify an uncategorized URL (URL is neither in predefined URL database nor in user-defined URL database) you have accessed, and then add it to the URL database during database updating. By default, the URL lookup servers are enabled.

To configure a URL lookup server, take the following steps:

1. On the Navigation pane, click Configure > Content > URL Filter/Web Content/Web Posting to visit the corresponding page.
2. On the Task tab in the right auxiliary pane, click Predefined URL DB.
3. In the Predefined URL DB dialog, click Update configuration.
4. In the Predefined URL DB Update Configuration dialog, under the Inquiry server section, double-click the cell in the IP column of Server1 and type a new IP address or domain name.
5. Double-click the cell in the Port column of Server1 and type a port number.
6. Select the Enable check box for Server1 to enable it.
7. If needed, repeat Step 4 to 6 to configure Server2.
8. Click OK to save the settings.
