User Exception

Exception user stands for the users who will not be controlled by the network behavior control function, including URL filter, web content, web post, email filter, IM control, and HTTP/FTP control. The system supports the following types of exception users: IP, IP range, role, user, user group, and address entry.

To configure the exception users, take the following steps:

  1. On the Navigation pane, click Configure > Content > URL Filter/Web Content/Web Posting/Email Filter/HTTP/FTP Control to visit the corresponding pages.
  2. On the Task tab in the right auxiliary pane, click User Exception.
  3. In the User Exception dialog, select the type of the user from the Type drop-down list.
  4. Finish the type related options.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Repeat Step 3 to 5 to add more exception users. To edit/delete an exception user, select the user you want to edit/delete from the list, and then click Edit/Delete.
  7. Click OK to save the settings.

Note: Exception users are effective to the whole system.
