License

License is used to manage and control some functions’ service, feature, and capacity. For detail information about license, please visit http://www.hillstonenet.com.

This section describes how to apply for and install a license.

Applying for a License

Before you apply for a license, you have to generate a license request first. Take the following steps:

1. Select System > License from the menu bar.
2. Under License request, type the customer's name into the Customer box.
3. Type the customer's address into the Address box.
4. Type the customer's zip code into the ZIP box.
5. Type the contact's name into the Contact box.
6. Type the contact's phone number into the Telephone box.
7. Type the contact's email into the Email box.
8. Click Generate, and a box appears to show you a license request. You can send the license request to your sales contact, who will send you a license after receiving the license request.

Installing a License

After obtaining the license, you must install it to the device. A license contains a string of characters that starts from “license” and ends with “=”. An example of the complete license string is shown as below (some characters are replaced by “?”):

To install a license, take the following steps:

1. Select System > License from the menu bar.
2. Under License installation in the License dialog, configure options as below:
   • Upload file: Click Browse and select the license file in your local PC. The license file is in TXT format and each file contains the license information for one feature/service.
   • Manual input: Paste the license string into the box. You can only paste the string of one license each time to install. For example, to install an IPS license, paste the following license string (some characters are replaced by “?”):

3. Click OK to save your settings. If the installed license needs to take effect after the device reboots, a prompt will appear to notify you.

After the license is installed successfully, you can view the license details in the License dialog, including your company/organization name, the license type, the valid time, and other information.
