DDNS Configuration Example

This section describe a typical DDNS configuration example.

The interface ethernet0/1 locates at the untrust zone, and the interface obtains IP address by PPPoE. If the IP address changes during PPPoE connection, the interface will send an update request to the DDNS server.

Take the following steps:

Step 1: Configure interface ethernet0/1.

  1. On the Navigation pane, click Configure > Network > Network to visit the Network page.
  2. Select ethernet0/1 from the interface list, and click Edit.
  3. On the General tab in the Interface Configuration dialog, modify according to your need:
  4. Click OK to save the settings.

Step 2: Configure DDNS service.

  1. On the Navigation pane, click Configure > Network > Network to visit the Network page.
  2. On the Task tab in the right auxiliary pane, click DDNS.
  3. In the DDNS List dialog, click New.
  4. In the DDNS Configuration dialog, configure the options as below:
  5. Click OK to close the dialog and return to DDNS List.

Step 3: Configure DNS in order to parse domain names.

  1. On the Navigation pane, click Configure > Network > Network to visit the Network page.
  2. On the Task tab in the right auxiliary pane, click DNS.
  3. On the Server and Proxy tab in the DNS List dialog, click New in DNS Server section, and in the DNS Server Configuration dialog, configure the options as follows:
  4. Click OK to close the dialog and return to DNS.
  5. Click Close on the DNS List dialog to complete.
