Predefined URL Database
The system contains a license controlled predefined URL database. Only after a URL license is installed, the predefined URL database can be used on the supported platforms.
Predefined URL database provides URL categories for the configurations of URL filter, web content, and web posting. The predefined URL database is divided into 39 categories, with a total number of URLs up to 20 million.
Configuring Predefined URL Database Update Parameters
By default, the system updates predefined URL database everyday. You can change the update parameters according to your own requirements. To change the update parameters, take the following steps:
- On the Navigation pane, click Configure > Content > URL Filter/Web Content/Web Posting to visit the corresponding page.
- On the Task tab in the right auxiliary pane, click Predefined URL DB.
- In the Predefined URL DB dialog, click Update Configuration.
- In the Predefined URL DB Update Configuration dialog, double-click the cells of the IP column in the Update server section to modify the IP addresses of the update servers.
- Select Auto update to enable the URL database auto update function, and specify the update time by modifying the Update time option.
- Click OK to save your settings.
Updating Online
To update the predefined URL database online, take the following steps:
- On the Navigation pane, click Configure > Content > URL Filter/Web Content/Web Posting.
- On the Task tab in the right auxiliary pane, click Predefined URL DB.
- In the Predefined URL DB dialog, click Online update to update the predefined URL database immediately.
Updating Manually
To update the predefined URL database manually, take the following steps:
- Use a web browser to download the signature pack to a local directory from the URL database server.
- On the Navigation pane, click Configure > Content >URL Filter/Web Content/Web Posting.
- On the Task tab in the right auxiliary pane, click Predefined URL DB.
- In the Predefined URL DB dialog, click Local update.
- In the Local Update dialog, click Browse, locate and select the file, and then click Open.
- Click OK to save your settings.
