Security Agent

To enable Security agent on an AD server, you need to first install and run Security Agenton the server. After that, when a domain user is logging in or logging out, Security Agent will record the user's username, IP address, current time and other information, and add the mapping between the username and IP address to StoneOS. In this way StoneOS can obtain every online user's IP address.

Installing and Starting Security Agent

To install Security Agent on an AD server, take the following steps:

  1. You can find the Security Agent installer in the bundled CD. Insert the CD to your server's CD-ROM, and double-click Setup.exe.
  2. Install the software as prompted by the installation wizard.

After successful installation, the Security Agent service will be launched automatically.

To start Security Agent Configuration Tool, choose either of the two methods below:

Setting Exceptions

You can set exceptions (including Exception User List, Exception IP List and Exception Host List) in Security Agent Configuration Tool. The graph below shows the Exception User List dialog:

Click the Exception IP List, Exception Host List and General tab in the Security Agent Configuration Tool dialog to display the configurations of Exception IP List, Exception Host List and General. The configurations of Exception IP List and Exception Host List are basically the same as that of Exception User List. The graph below shows the General dialog:
